Viola Garlic Shrimp Homemade *try #1
I really love Viola Garlic Shrimp but I'm trying to go whole foods and stear away from all the preservatives and junk that are in processed foods. My problem lies in making a sauce that matches. I'm just not good at that sort of thing. so I'm going to try this one and see how it goes.
Trying this.
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup chicken broth or 3/4 cup beef broth
3/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons parsley flakes
salt and pepper, to taste
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Directions:
1 Melt butter and add garlic in a medium sauce pan.
2 Cook over medium for 1 minute.
3 Add flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
4 Stir in broth and milk and cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens.
5 Add parsley, salt, pepper and cheese.
from here
And it worked! We used unsweetened almond coconut milk (because it's what we had on hand) and a dolup of sour cream, My husband liked it better than the packaged deal :) So just add noodles and vegies and your good to go Viola!
