How we manage our schedule

This got me thinking and when I was able to answer the question kinda gave me a boost that I needed.

Reader Question: Hello! I need some help with scheduling! I feel like there are not enough hours in the day to do school, clean, cook, groceries, and have some time for fun! (Not to mention quiet time, time for my hubby and maybe to myself) This year I will have a kinder gardener, second grader, fifth grader, (and a baby)
How do some of you moms homeschool, keep a perfect house, coupon, meal plan, stay fit, have your own etsy shop, and still have time left to blogg??????
Are my own expectations too high? What should I prioritize, and how do I do it???

My answer kinda drove me nuts though because it's so unorganized. So lets try that again.

  • School: We try really hard to be done around noon maybe with some projects she can finish on her own in the afternoon.
  • Clean: My daughter loads and unloads the laundry as well as puts hers and her sisters away.  Dishes we TRY to get done after each meal only takes 5-10 minutes that way.
  • Cook: I got a meal planner at Target for $1 and I try to load it up on the weekend so we have an idea what to eat each day. I also have a separate one for my littlest who doesn't eat all that we eat just yet.
  • Groceries: Usually in the evening or weekend but occasionally we'll take a half day off school once a month and just knock it out.
  • Fun time: With school done in the mornings afternoons are free to do as we please and when chores are done at night weekends are open to.
  • Quiet time: Kids are required to be in bed between 7-8 not necessarily asleep but quiet in bed so we have our time to unwind.
  • Stay fit: I work out 30-50 minutes every morning preferably before my kids get up but regardless before breakfast.
  • Try: I say try a lot because it doesn't always workout that way.  My house isn't spotless and we are way overdue for a date night but that's life and we just keep chugging along.  I do well with check off lists.
