Tooth care for tinys (mommy hacks)

Ok I'm a list person.  I love making hour by hour lists of things that need to be done.  It makes me feel productive.  I've been doing this from the time of elementary school laying on the side of the tennis court with pad and paper writing out hours.   So this week when things are really hectic after a crazy weekend because my husband reminded me before bed Sunday night that Wednesday we get new carpets and everything has to be moved.  I've been a victim of clutter for a while and it's time to take charge, this will help but it's going to be hard.  My 8 year old does not adjust well to change in her schedule so I'm writing an hour by hour chart for her so she knows what to expect.  It's usually not to the T but it helps her feel a little bit more in control of a crazy day.

My other revaluations of the day:

Tooth brushing charts! I've made them before but they get wet hanging in the bathroom or forgotten.  so this is my new plan of action.  Yes I still have very little ones that need the constant reminder to brush and these help.  I'm getting a dollar store frame and printing a sheet to put in it.  I think I'm already going to have the days written on it just not he month or days of the week.  Whatever works.  We could just use a regular calendar page and put different color check marks for each kid.

Or what do you know I could just use this.  That I just found on the dollar tree website.  Different color markers for each kid and I think we're a win.

Next was also tooth care.  I use baking soda with a mix of coconut oil and sea salt to brush my teeth, regular toothpaste just makes me gag and feel rather sick (I think it's something to do with how it foams),  Any how my kids always want to try it but I'd like it to be more user friendly for them.  I just use a container and dip my brush into it.  At 3 and 5 they have a little harder time not making a huge mess even when being supervised.  This is my theory.  I'm thinking of taking one of the empty travel size tooth paste containers (that we have millions of thanks to advantage dental).  Cutting open the end cleaning and filling with our own toothpaste then duct tape the end close.  It's a theory but we'll see.

Or: I was looking for pictures and other ideas and found how to make toothpaste containers our of eye drop bottles.  That looks even easier and might be worth a try as well.  It's amazing how you can recycle things if you think about it long enough :).  Here's the link I was looking at.

Update: Used a crystal light mio type bottle the squirter clear piece pops right out the lid comes off easily to clean and it works like a charm as long as you store it upside down.

One last tip though it doesn't directly have to do with tooth care.  I am really annoyed at how much sugar is in your basic store brand flavored yogurt.  Yes you can make your own and we often do but not always.  While we're at it lets be honest the taste of plain yogurt is not appealing to most.  So to cut down I simply buy one plain and one flavored usually raspberry or strawberry.  Empty them into a large mixing bowl, I use a hand held electric mixer and blend the two together.  It cuts down on the sugar amount but not really much of the flavor.  Store back in containers or sort into smaller reusable individual size containers (helps a lot with portion control).

Ok thoughts down, Time to go to work! Have a great day y'all!
