People I don't understand

Luke 6:31 "Do to others as you would have them do to you."

This was posted on my teachers (Mrs. Chandler) wall when I was in forth grade and it's something my mom brought up to me a few times. Although her way of thinking was a little backward being if you help enough people when the tables turn at least one of them will help you. When you stop and think about it you might change how you treat your fellow man. Stop and think what if I were walking in their shoes?

I know of a man that made a comment not to long ago that really disturbed me. He said he has no real friends, the people he keeps around he keeps for company and so that he can use them for his own personal use. I pray that these things were said out of anger or frustration but honestly do not know. If a friend was down on there luck how far would you go to help them? If you were down on you luck would you want someone to help you? Don't thing of it selfishly as in contemplating what these people would be willing to give up but what you can give up.

Something I've long loved about my husband is that he shares the same passion as I do for most people. If we have it to give it's yours, all you need to do is ask. We don't have much but what we have is open to our friends and family.

Is it really that hard to show mercy and grace to those who may or may not deserve it. Is it even your decision you make such a call? No it's not, we are called to love our fellow man and to pray for our enemies or better put: Matthew 5:44 "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you.
