End of a hard day

Its been a hard day.  From the heat to my mood, wild running kids, and fighting with my husband.  I've cried more tears tonight over the thought of not being good enough than I care to remember.   Little ones are still bouncing off the walls 2 hours after bedtime.  Sometimes I think I'm losing my mind.

Then the words come.  My oldest gets home from her first day at youth group.  She's ahead almost 2 years from others in the same grade as her so she is by far the youngest there.  I wasn't sure how it would go but she had an awesome time.  She starts talking about trusting God in hard times and the introductions.  They all got in a circle and said their name, the school they went to, and their favorite place.  Her favorite places were: 1 -anywhere not in the coner, 2 - the pool 3 - Home.

Her favorite place to be is home.  Out of all the places she could be she prefers to be home, where she feels safe, surrounded by a family who loves her, where she knows where everything is.  Maybe, maybe even though I feel like I'm totally screwing this parenting thing up sometimes.   maybe it's just a hard day.  One day, not the rest of the days.  Tomorrow will be another day and we'll make it a better day.  God is good and so is the family he's given me.

Just my thoughts at the end of a hard day.
