A day in our home
Well it's been a day...
I decided to take my 4 year old to the store. Mommy and daughter time, it was much needed. I know she craves that special attention, I'm always rocking the baby or helping my 8 year old with her studies. So this was good, a little trying because she wanted to run ahead or hang on to the side of the cart while the store was supper busy. Tomorrow being Thanksgiving and all. Regardless, it was a good time and I am thankful for the fun time we got to spend together. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that she's mine. A very passionate, supper loving, green eyed, blond little girl.
We get home, then the fun begins.... I put things away and sit down long enough to notice that my littlest one forgot to go to the bathroom to go potty, so off I run her to dry off and change her clothes - but I don't, somewhere I get distracted after she's cleaned up and forget the clothes as I am busy with somebody else. Meanwhile, she comes out and finishes her business on the carpet. So after all that's cleaned up, I am out of carpet freshener so I dab a little bit of baby powder on the rug to absorb the smell. Take the kids to the bath so they can go to bed.
I run out to the kitchen to finish my projects while hubby listens to the kids play in the bath. Running back every so often to make sure hair and body parts get washed. On my last return to dry them off I find that hubby also forgot to put the hair scissors away and both kids got a new hair cut. Oh the joys. Well he's not the only one who forgot to put things away because while I'm lecturing my middle child who gave the haircuts my littlest one decided I didn't use enough baby powder and dumped the whole (large) bottle all over the floor (table, chairs ect.)
Breath deep, put the 2 little mischievous makers to bed (3-5 times) then finished up my projects in the kitchen. I finished coating the truffles and am attempting homemade yogurt one more time (this time draining the whey off so it's not so bitter). Finally it becomes that time and I send my eldest off the bed, some comes back to report a problem and I just don't think I can take it. I stop her and tell her to just go to bed. "But I can't, Sam's sleeping in front of the door, I can't open it without waking her up." So she gets to stay up and read another book, while I figure this mess out. We need to change the hinges on that door so it opens the other way.
I'm honestly not complaining, more like re-living. I am so thankful that I can laugh along the way at evenings like this. My children truly are a blessing that make me look at each day in new light. They are creative, and just enjoy exploring their world that is our home. I am blessed to have these times with 3 such awesome little girls. They are the light in my life, even if you have to clean off the peanut butter jelly hand prints to see it.
