My daughter is amazing!
Ok I had to brag on Jannel, especially after a rough afternoon she really turned it around come evening. About 6pm I told her to go get her jammies on (so she could go focus on something other than driving me up the wall for 5 minutes. By the time she comes out I'm scrubbing the table and getting ready to do the dishes so I ask her to empty the dryer. She does that and then goes on to switch over the wash (which is rather difficult for her because she is about as tall as the washing machine. After she did that I asked her to read to her sisters - she went in Samanthas room where my littlest rocked in her swing and my 2yr old listened to her read them a few stories. After that I told her she could stay up for a little while longer for being such a big help (It may not have seemed like much but it's really hard to clean house with little ones screaming at you). So I went to put Veronica to bed and came out to mop the kitchen/dinning room floor by hand, she begs to help so I give her a rag and assign her a corner to work in, she works with me till I'm done. She stays up a little longer reading stories on the nook and then goes off the bed without a hitch. Man I wish every night worked out like that.
Yes most (not all but most) of the work she did I asked her to do but she didn't so much as question it. I am thankful that we have taught her that housework is for everyone that lives in the house. She also sees it as a privilege that she is allowed to help out. She often tells her father that he should stay home and she would go to work for him and then just give him the money. What can I say she is really special in her own little way, I'm just thankful to remember that and the end of a day like today. Really it was a great day just trying at times.
