I actually just got to listen!

Wow life is great.  Ok I've been missing my hubby quite a bit this week, if he's not out working all day then he's usually plugged into a video game and yesterday he was out fishing from sun up to way past sun down.  Today he's going paintballing - he never seems to stop going.  Yet one thing I've learned from my years with him is that it's when he gets busy that he thinks alot about his priorities and the time we spend together even though brief is very special.

This morning could have been very depressing for me, home alone 'again' with the kids, little to no adult contact and after yesterday which was anything but smooth I could have been dreading what the day had in store.  I ask him to come out on the porch to enjoy a cup of coffee with me, cuz I've been working so hard on getting it set up and cleaned up and the morning sun hit's it just right it's very refreshing way to start the day.  But he can't, he's got to eat, clean out the truck and run.  So I sit for a moment by myself then decide well I may as well go inside and spend the last few moments of my morning with him.  It wasn't the way I wanted to start my day, following him around, helping clean up, being informed that the kitchen needed disinfected from all the fish cutting last night. But I was richly blessed for it.

I knew about/figured I would need to do the kitchen and he apologies and said they tried to clean most of it up and they did a good job.  As we were going out to clean out the truck he was telling me about what he expected the day to be like and what his previous trip was like (wow this is sharing of a whole new level and it was really cool to feel for once that I was actually part of that little world.)   Then as he was leaving he apologized again for being gone so much and that he really wanted to spend some time with me.  He wouldn't be out late (lol ya home by dinner) and he would call if that changed.

He has talked more to me this morning than I think he has in the past week that wasn't drug out by me asking questions.  For once I just got to listen.  I feel so loved, what an awesome morning.   Thank God that we made that commitment almost 7 years ago.  He is so good!

We have been taking a marriage class called "Love and Respect" that is pretty cool.  We're not going to a 'marriage class' because of our marriage, it's just a morning bible study class that is going on at our church and although we haven't been having problems and we're not really applying any specific concepts to each other, I think that at least subconsciously we look at how we communicate a little more closely. I don't know, all I do know is God is good and I am so blessed with a loving husband.  I just want to shout it from the mountain tops but I'm a quite person so I'll just write it down here.  Now lets see if I can bless him with at least semi well behaved or at least tired children this evening, a good dinner and a clean house.  That is my goal!
