Veronica Sleep Fight March
Ok Thursday night did it. Veronica woke up at about midnight and didn't go back to sleep until ... wells he didn't around 445 i put her in bed and shut the door before I completely lost it. Then at 530 daddy went in to check on her and she was laying down so he covered her up and headed off to work. at 545 she got up and came in and hoped in my bed. There she slept till 8 cuz I was to tired to care at that point. So when I got up I called the nurse advice line cuz I wasn't finding any help online, lots of similar problems but no answers. What the pediatrician told me made perfect seance. When I stayed up with her rocking her and such trying to get her to go back to sleep I was giving her positive feedback for getting up and staying up in the middle of the night. When I lay her down for nap and for bed I don't rock her or sit with her for more than a few minutes and it works great in fact we've finally gotten to the point where she gets into bed on her own and curls up. She knows what's going on but when the middle of the night comes all bets are off. I think this is mostly because we're not consistent at 2 in the morning, we haven't found what works so we just keep trying. So Friday night I was so very ready to try it, the nurse said it would take at least 3 days (if not more) to get through the rough part of it and I was prepared.
Now Saturday we went out to Madras for a BBQ and didn't get home till around 11pm or so. We were all very tired and she didn't even wake up when I took her from the car and put her in bed. Until 2am that is when she started her little fits.
Sunday night Brian had put her to bed and she went down easy. She woke briefly around 10 I think cuz she heard my voice talking to the dogs but I put her back in bed and no fuss was had. At about midnight she woke with a vengeance. She was kicking, hitting and screaming bloody murder. She would not be calmed, I tried laying her down a few times but got very frustrated from being hit in the face and belly. Brian finally got up and put her down and she stayed down (he's awesome that way!) But she woke again at 4am but was a little easier to handle and was down by 430 or so. And as usual she's up and at'em at about 7 like nothing was ever the matter.
Sunday March 18 Woke up and trashed like a demon!
Monday was a good day, V climbed into bed on her own for both nap and bedtime. At about 2am she came winning to my room. I didn't pick her up but took her hand and led her back to bed, resaying our goodnights as we went. She got into bed currled up and went back to sleep. Was up at 530 but Im guessing that's cuz she heard me up so oh well.
Monday March 19 Woke at 2 and easily went back to sleep :)
Tuesday, went down for a nap on her own did good :) Bedtime went down ok but sissy got up so she was a little cranky going back to sleep for about 20 min. woke up 2 or 3 times between 1 and 2. Went down somewhat easy, was cranky though.
Tuesday March 20 Woke 1am and 2 am cranky but stayed in bed.
Well it's April 7th and things have been going well, got several full nights sleep and when she does wake up we just tell her it's night time and give her a hug and back to bed. She sleeps about 7ish to 6ish sometimes 7. I can't complain cuz lately she's been waking up in a good mood. Jannel is a natural Lark and has always been so was I growing up. So I'm not going to try and fight an early riser as long as it's not before 5 is (as long as I"m already slightly up) Although I encourage them to stay in their room till 7 it's not enforced heavily.
