From down to Thankful
Tonight has changed from depressing to awesome. It's amazing how the peace of God can surpass all understanding.
The night started off by Brian leaving just before the girls went to bed to go hang out at the bowling ally with some friends. The girls weren't very happy about it and an hour past bedtime neither showed signs of sleeping. Veronica was having fits so I let Jannel go in the spare room and look at books till her sister went to sleep. ( I know it would drive ME crazy if I had to stay in a room with a crying baby for that long)
At about 8:30 she finally went to sleep and I told Jannel she needed go to bed now. Although she didn't straight out tell me no, she did her best to hold up a conversation walking around the fact that she didn't wan to go to bed. I was too tired and too down (I hate being alone at night) to really get strict with her and I didn't want to risk waking Veronica. So I let her have some hot tea (after all it is a cold night) then I decided to take advantage of the opportunity of having some quiet time with my eldest daughter. We finished up reading that last 2 chapters of 1 Thessalonians. We got to talk about Gods word and how we should love others regardless of their actions. (1 Thessalonians 5:15" Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong." We got to pray together which we rarely get to do at night. Mostly because Veronica is in that stage where she fights sleep all that she can and bedtime is anything but pleasant. I know we will get there eventually but right now I am thankful for a little precious time with my Nelly.
She's such an amazing person. I'm no longer longing so much for adult conversation or my honey to snuggle, although I do love those things. But am thankful for the night and all the people that make up my day. Lord thank you for all the wondrous people in my life and the privilege to pray for everything else. Amen
